Yesterday, on April 26, we had a discussion about emotions. We talked about what influences our emotions, is it important to analyze them, what kind of idioms are used to describe emotions, and what are the cultural differences in expressing emotions in various countries. The speaking prompt was lead by Maryna Tuzhanska, who is a FLEX alumna and also a volunteer at Vinnytsia branch of the youth NGO "Foundation of Regional Initiatives" (FRI). You are also invited to our Speaking Club, which takes place at 17:30 on Tuesdays.

You are invited to take part in the English Club in Vinnytsia meeting to be held on Thursday, 28 April, at 5.30pm. The leaders – Alex E. and Serhii P. - will talk to you on borrowings in English from French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Polish. And you will hopefully enjoy presentation, discussion, contests and a lot of…saxophone music!!!

Camp HEAL wants YOU to be a camper at Camp HEAL 2016! Camp HEAL is an English-language Peace Corps camp in Ukraine that is run by American Peace Corps Volunteers and Ukrainians. You will learn about issues such as HIV/AIDS and Human Trafficking in Ukraine, and learn how to change your community through developing projects. Oh yeah, and you'll have a lot of fun!!!! This unforgettable camp will be July 20-27 at Sanitorium Prolisok in Volynska Oblast.

We want campers from the ages of 16-22 from all over Ukraine, but we ESPECIALLY want campers from these oblasts: Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Herson, Zaporizhya, Cherkasy, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kirovograd, and Kyiv.

Tell yo' friends, tell yo' neighbors, tell yo' enemies, tell EVERYONE to apply. Scholarships are available for campers who cannot pay for the camp!

All the attendees of the English Club had a chance to enjoy each other's company on April 23, discussing a topic and watching themed videos. The Club was especially designed to let everyone have a word, and there were over 25 people who had come. If you want to feel the English Club atmosphere and share your experience, come and be part of something worthwhile.

13 квітня 2016 р. в Інформаційному Центрі "Вікно в Америку" відбулась зустріч з американським викладачем Тадеушем МакКлері, який познайомив вчителів ЗОШ м. Вінниці з інноваційнми методами викладання англійської мови, зокрема ігровим. "Нетрадиційна форма проведення занять сприяє кращому вивченню іноземної мови", - переконаний викладач. Як приклад, лінгвістичні ігри. У процесі гри легко запам'ятовуються ключові поняття.

Одним із ключових моментів зустрічі стало формування умінь створювати піар-коди і вміння викориcтовувати їх під час уроків в ЗОШ.

Foreign language teachers from around Vinnytsia gathered on Wednesday, April 13 at the Window on America to discuss 'gamification' - using elements of games to improve student motivation and language learning. Thaddeus McCleary, an English Language Fellow with the US Department of State, shared resource ideas for high-tech and low-tech classrooms. Participants tried some of these activities together, offering their comments and impressions.

Презентація програми Фулбрайт в Україні

11 квітня 2016 р. в Інформаційному Центрі "Вікно в Америку" відбулась зустріч з координатором програми Фулбрайт в Україні Інною Бариш, яка розповіла про навчання в американських університетах на здобуття ступеня магістра. У даному конкурсі можуть брати участь студенти старших курсів та випускники ВНЗ. Кандидати повинні мати щонайменше диплом бакалавра на час призначення стипендії.На зустріч завітали студенти вищих навчальних закладів та учні ЗОШ, які планують подаватись на навчання у США. Інна Бариш презентувала можливості програми для магістрантів,

розповіла про умови подачі аплікаціних форм, а також поділилась найкращим досвідом випускників даної програми, серед яких є і вінниччани.
