Pre-Watching-Movie Club

What were you doing on Sunday, November 2d at 4.30? Hope you spent this time usefully! Because we did... At the MovieClub! We read texts and learned how to be happier. Also we shared our ideas about reincarnation and choosing our lives before our birth!

Also we watched video and discussed questions that were raised. And as it was the Pre-Movie-watching club we learned new words and words combination that are used in the film.

One the most important aspects of learning a language - GRAMMAR - wasn't out of our attention. To ease understanding the film, we had a translation practice. We tried our skills in translating from Ukrainian into English and from English into Ukrainian.

At the end of the Club we learnt general facts about the movie! And to get the idea what is the film about we read the summary of a film and watched a trailer.

Atmosphere was really friendly, calm and warm!

Our THANKs for those who participated in Pre-Movie-watching club. We were glad to see new participants.

So, if you want to feel what we talk about, master your English and get rid of fear to speak English fluently, you're welcome next Sunday at 4.30 pm. This time we'll watch the movie and have a discussion!

Have you missed Bright English Club???
The next our meeting is on Wednesday, 5, at 5 pm. It is dedicated to Halloween.
Everyone knows that Halloween is celebrated in the United States on October 31. The name “Halloween” comes from “All Hallows Eve,” or the day before All Saints Day, a traditional holy day for Christians. Are you interested? Then you have a splendid opportunity to enlarge your knowledge about the holiday.
Interesting tasks and a discussion are a part of these activities.

A Discussion on Differences in Perspective between Ukrainians and Americans with Lisle K.

The last activity of the English Club was led by Fulbright Volunteer Lisle Kauffman. It was a discussion on Differences in Perspective between Ukrainians and Americans. The participants had a chance to discuss the following questions: how the Ukrainian view of health is the same and different than Americans; how the Ukrainian view of family is the same and different than Americans; what the differences and similiarities between Ukrainians and Americans thinking are regarding education, patriotism and religion; if there is a difference, what explains the public behavior of Ukrainians, what the historical "roots" of this behavior are, etc. The attendees discussed actively the following question: how American thinking has influenced or changed Ukrainian thinking; has Ukrainian thinking influenced or changed American thinking.
