Description: Join CO.NX in celebrating the President’s Young African Leaders Initiative, a three-year, sustained U.S. government effort to engage African youth interested in positively impacting the future of Sub-Saharan Africa. The Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Deputy Minister of Information in Accra, Ghana, and Shamina Muslim, broadcast journalist and alumnus of the President’s Forum for Young African Leaders, will discuss political activism, social justice, and what it is like being a young African leader. Join the live Q&A!
Background: Beginning with the President’s Young African Leaders Forum (August 2010) and the First Lady’s Young African Women Leaders Forum (June 2011), the Initiative continues with the Mentoring Partnership with Young African Leaders, a three-week professional development program sponsored by U.S. government in collaboration with private U.S. companies and non-profit organizations. The Mentoring Partnership will be launched June 14-15, 2012 at a Young African Leaders’ Innovation Summit in Washington, D.C.
